Home button not working after update to 5 1 : MotoG

There are some reports of excessive battery drain when changing between routers. Some people can’t get it to connect to their network at all. There are also several reports of the connection just dropping, even at close proximity to the router. To keep costs down, Motorola shipped the Moto G without a charger; you just get the standard USB cable. There have also been reports of the Moto G just turning itself off and not charging.

The charging port or the battery may be damaged or faulty. You could open up the back cover and put a small piece of paper or tape in the space between the buttons and the back cover. This should prevent any excessive rattling. The Moto G takes a Micro SIM, so if you’re using a Nano SIM with an adapter or a trimmed SIM then you might run into trouble. Try using a different SIM to make sure that the card is the problem. If it is then request a new SIM from your carrier, or, if you’re using a Nano SIM then try another adapter.

Problem #8: Delayed notifications on Moto G

If your Moto G will not turn on, the problem may simply be a drained battery. Ensure that you have a working charging cable, and let your phone charge for at least 30 minutes. The phone should reboot by holding down the POWER button after charging.

To replace the SIM card reader, please refer to the Motorola Moto G 3rd Generation SIM Card Reader Replacement guide. Follow the instructions above but replace the current SD card with a different one. If the problem persists for other SD cards, it is likely that you have a faulty SD card reader. Refer to the Motorola Moto G 3rd Generation Card Reader Replacement guide. If the battery is damaged, the phone can suffer either a rapid loss of charge or fail to charge altogether. In order to replace the battery, please refer to the Motorola Moto G 3rd Generation Battery Replacement guide.

Drained Battery

When an Android robot with a red exclamation mark appears on the screen, hold down the POWER button and press the VOL UP bottom. If your Moto G’s battery has been completely discharged, it may not respond to simple charging. In this case, leave the phone to rest overnight without being connected to a charger. After this period, the phone should respond after 30 minutes of charging. In order to avoid this problem in the future, charge the phone once the battery level reaches 5%.

If the Moto G will not charge while being correctly plugged in, the charging cord may be damaged. To test this, try using a different charging cord and perhaps a different wall outlet. Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds, and then release them. When attempting to access the SD card, the user is met with a message stating the card was removed. The SD card works as intended, but it’s not being recognized by the Moto G.

VOLTE sim issue with Moto G 3rd gen

Some people link it to haptic feedback on the keyboard. For the most part this is harmless; it doesn’t affect the functioning of the device at all, but it may annoy you. All I need to do is to go to sim settings and disable sim 1 and again enabling it will bring signals back.

Try adjusting the volume with the headphones plugged in by pressing the VOL UP button until the system sound appears to be in the middle. When an Android robot with a red exclamation mark appears on the screen, hold down the POWER button and press the VOL UP button. There could be a software bug related to SD cards that Motorola/Google has fixed in a recent patch. Under the "Settings" app, select the "About Phone" tab, then select"System updates," and install the latest update if one is available.

It could also be related to Facebook, or any other app that accesses your contacts. So I uninstalled some apps that weren’t too important for me. Restarted the phone and the sound and ringing were restored.

That old IT support favorite – turn it off and on again. Try turning the Moto G and the router off, then switch them both back on again.

Glitch: Moto G reboots when charging, or won’t charge

1) grab your phone and with the top end of the phone hit a soft surface like a sofa or pillow hard a few times and it will remove the dust from the speaker. To control volume , just press volume up and drag the bars on screen to control. Holding Vol & power got me to boot screen and from there all is good. The phone might not automatically move to the correct setting when using a wired connection.
